Egg Freezing: The 8-Step Journey

At ooVoo.Life, we believe egg freezing should feel simple, empowering, and entirely about you. Here’s how the process works:

Step 1: Your first contact

Everything starts with a chat. We’ll listen to your specific needs, answer your questions, and help you understand the process. Whether it’s connecting you with the best clinics, organizing travel, or navigating the details, we make sure everything is tailored to you. This first step is about building trust and making sure you feel supported from the very beginning.

Step 2: Personalised Consultation

Your journey begins with a personalised consultation to evaluate your ovarian reserve and overall fertility health. Through blood tests and an ultrasound, your medical team will assess your egg count and plan a treatment tailored to your body and goals. This is your moment to ask questions, share your concerns, and feel confident about your decision.

Step 3: Hormone Stimulation (10–14 days)

For around 10 to 14 days, you’ll take a customised dose of fertility medication. This gently stimulates your ovaries to grow multiple mature eggs instead of the usual single egg released each month. It’s a short-term step that leads to long-term possibilities.

Step 4: Monitoring

During the stimulation phase, your medical team will monitor your progress closely using ultrasound. This helps determine the perfect timing for your egg retrieval, ensuring the best results.

Step 5: Egg Retrieval

When your ovarian follicles are ready, your eggs are collected during a quick, minimally invasive procedure performed under anaesthesia. It’s safe, simple, and typically takes less than 15 minutes. You’ll be able to go home the same day and recover comfortably.

Step 6: Laboratory Work

After retrieval, your eggs are identified, evaluated, and prepared for freezing. Using a state-of-the-art method called vitrification, your eggs are rapidly frozen at -196ºC to preserve their quality for whenever you’re ready.

Step 7: Storage

Your frozen eggs are stored securely and can be used at any time until the day before your 50th birthday*. Each egg is carefully labelled and tracked, so you can rest easy knowing they’re safely preserved for your future.

Step 8: Ongoing support and community

The journey doesn’t end here—it’s just the beginning! With ooVoo.Life, you’re part of a supportive community that empowers women like you. Whether it’s staying connected, exploring future options, or simply being there when you need us, we’re always by your side.

And then what?

When you’re ready to use your frozen eggs, they’ll be thawed with care in the laboratory. Each egg will be fertilised by injecting a single sperm directly into it to maximise the chances of creating healthy embryos. Once the embryos develop, they’re nurtured in the lab for about five days. One or two embryos are then transferred into your uterus during an IVF procedure. Any remaining embryos can be frozen for future use, giving you more options down the road.

Egg freezing isn’t just a medical process—it’s about creating choices and peace of mind for your future. With ooVoo.Life, you’ll have expert support and guidance every step of the way, so you can focus on what matters most: your timeline, your dreams, and your freedom. 🌟
